Shakkal
Resort Supervisor
Shakkal comes to Firehouse Pet Resort with four and a half years of experience as a veterinary technician, with three of those years at Firehouse. We’re eager for you to meet her, knowing you’ll appreciate her positive energy and leadership skills as she guides and supports the team who will care for your pets.
Shakkal’s focus will be on making pets feel comfortable at Firehouse Pet Resort as if they were at their own home. She’s well-trained in using Fear Free techniques to help calm both cats and dogs. For example, she uses gentle touch, slow movements, and treats if they’re food-motivated to help pets ease into their new environment.
Shakkal is a native Texan. She graduated with a degree in agriculture, majoring in animal science from Texas State University. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their beautiful daughter, Eliyah, hanging out with family and friends, eating out, dancing, watching movies, and volunteering to give back in her community. Shakkal grew up with dogs and just adopted her first cat, Spotzy.

Grant
Resort Attendant
Clients appreciate Grant’s communication skills and that he is always available to answer questions. Grant wants to continue to improve his care, so he focuses on what extra things he can do for each individual pet. His hard-working attitude and empathy make him a valuable member of the resort.
A huge dog lover, Grant is always excited to meet the dogs who come to the resort. At home, he has four cats who have stolen his heart: Alex, Hugo, Jack, and Percy. When not working, he loves to play games, draw, listen to music, and spend time with friends.

Kaylee
Resort Attendant
Kaylee understands that each pet is unique and needs individualized care and attention. Her dedication to each pet who comes into the resort helps clients and pets feel secure. Kaylee likes to keep clients informed about how their pet is doing while at the resort. This allows her to build trust with both clients and resort guests.
To keep pets happy, Kaylee ensures that they have comfortable kennels, lots of toys and love, and proper exercise. She is constantly learning new skills so that she can provide even better care. Currently, she is earning her Fear Free certification.
A true cat lover, Kaylee’s heart belongs to her tabby cat, Taffy. Because she understands the value of self-care, she enjoys spending time recharging-reading or watching television while cuddling with her cat. Otherwise, she is using her creative mind to decorate her home.

Karla
Resort Attendant
Karla plans on attending Texas Tech University where she will major in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Currently, she is working towards her Level II Certified Veterinary Assistant Certification. Karla also values spending time with her family and her black Lab mix, Sultan.

Kyra
Resort Attendant
Clients appreciate Kyra’s positive attitude and transparent communication. She answers client questions, explains all aspects of boarding or daycare to clients, and makes sure they and their pets are comfortable. Kyra wants clients to know that their pets are secure, happy, and in the best hands while at the resort. She treats each pet like her own, providing them with the space, snuggles, or extra love they need.
Kyra is currently earning her Professional Dog Trainer certification. She is interested in Animal Control or Veterinary Technician schooling after she completes her certification. She has apprenticed under two different dog trainers, is skilled at reading pets’ body language and using positive reinforcement. Kyra has also volunteered at wildlife rescues, helping transport and care for all sorts of animals.
When not working, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, create art, and go hiking with her pets. She has three dogs: Faye, a chihuahua/pug mix; and Cooper and Hazel, longhaired dachshunds. She also has a rescue cat named Shiloh.

Bailey
Resort Attendant
Bailey spends time getting to know clients and pets so that she can provide the best environment for pets during their visits. Clients love her outgoing, welcoming personality and dedication to making sure each pet has a great experience. Bailey wants pets to feel safe and comfortable while at the resort. She offers enrichment, plenty of exercise, and lots of love. She double-checks diet restrictions and medication needs to help pets stay happy and healthy.
Bailey has experience with a wide variety of animals. She shares her home with dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, and ferrets. Her dogs are Petey (a senior pit bull mix), Sam (a senior German Shepherd mix), and Zaba (a black lab mix). She also has three black cats: Midnight, Cosmo, and Celeste. She has a fancy ball python named Gorgon and a Chinese Water Dragon named Hydra. She also has two ferrets (Bonnie and Clyde) and two parakeets (Gringo and Amarilla). When not working, she loves spending time with her pets or crafting.

Susie
Client Service Coordinator
Originally from Illinois, Susie came to Austin to raise her three beautiful children. Soon after, she started her career as a Veterinary Technician and discovered her passion for understanding animal behavior and providing first-rate pet care. After several years, she decided to transition to the role of CSC where she felt she could have a larger impact by establishing long-lasting bonds with clients. At Firehouse, Susie became an instant fit with her can-do attitude and sincerity.
In her free time, Susie enjoys spending time with her daughter (Hannah) and five pets (Derby, Chloe, Boo, Quincey, and Gambino). She also likes going to concerts, watching live music, and spending time with friends.

Kenneth
Client Service Coordinator
When not at Firehouse, you can find him hanging out with his family or playing board games, Kenneth has two pets of his own, Dory ( blue betta fish) and Cookie, a poodle/schnauzer mix.

Abel
Client Service Coordinator
Abel studied Business and Marketing at Austin Community College. On the weekends, he likes to play games with his friends, relax with his family, or hang out with his four dogs: Loki, Sakura, Kiba, and Ruby.

Mark
Client Service Coordinator
Mark attended Le Cordon Bleu Texas Culinary Academy, where he received his BA in Culinary Arts. When not working, he loves to play board games; he and his husband are huge fans of Gloomhaven. He shares his heart with Rocket (a Lab/Great Pyrenees mix) and Chelsea (a Chihuahua).

Lili
Client Service Coordinator
To stay current on her job skills, Lili seeks feedback from her coworkers and attends continued education classes. She also works to improve her communication skills.
While Lili loves all animals, cats are her favorite. She has two of her own: Piper, a Siamese, and Pipa, a Bengal. In her free time, she loves cuddling with her pets and watching movies. She also enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes.
