Esterleane
Resort Supervisor
Esterleane’s favorite thing about working at Firehouse is being able to help clients with their pets’ needs. She is driven by her passion for assisting animals and educating clients. She treats pets like her own family, collaborating with owners to ensure that each pet is receiving the best care. Clients appreciate that she takes a patient, individualized approach to greeting pets. Esterleane will always give pets the time, space, and support they need to adjust to their visit.
She is excited for the Pet Resort to offer additional support for clients and pets. Esterleane joined the Firehouse family in 2018 as a Veterinary Technician. She uses her Fear Free training and experience with pets to ensure that all visitors at the resort feel comfortable and safe. Her favorite thing about the Pet Resort is the playrooms, especially the front one because clients can watch their pets play through the windows.
Esterleane received a Bachelor of Agriculture in Animal Science from Texas State University. To continue to grow in the field, she loves to study new techniques to help pets and owners with home care, attend training seminars, and read leadership books. Her heart belongs to her two dogs: Oreo, a laidback Heeler/Lab mix, and Molly, a tiny but fiery Maltese. She also loves plants. When not helping pets at the resort, she loves to go fishing, play games with her family, watch movies, and dance.

Derek
Resort Attendant
Clients appreciate Derek’s attention to detail and level of care. He checks in with pet owners, providing updates on how their pets are doing at the Resort. Derek is always happy to answer questions and talk clients through the boarding or playcare process.
Derek empathizes with clients and patients. He understands that Resort visits can be stressful. He allows pets time to adjust, using a calm, gentle approach for pets who are nervous. He loves being able to help pets have fun and run off some energy in a safe environment. Derek has a knack for helping with nervous, anxious, or aloof pets. He comes to Firehouse Pet Resort with four years of experience working with animals.
Derek lives on a ranch with a wide variety of animals. He has two dogs: Sharky, a pit bull, and Skevvy, a mix. He studied Art and Design at Mira Costa Community College. In his free time, he enjoys reading science fiction books, watching old movies, and working with his sound synthesizer.
Madison
Resort Attendant
Madison loves providing love, mental stimulation, and play for the pets who visit the resort. Her number one priority is ensuring all pets are comfortable during their stay, whether it is just for playcare or if they are boarding overnight. Her compassionate approach and Fear Free techniques help make pets feel secure while at the Resort. Madi especially enjoys working with senior pets and any pets who need specialized attention.
Madi currently attends Hays High School. She has two rescue pit bull mixes, Buster and Chief. When not working or doing homework, Madi enjoys going swimming and spending time with her friends.
Alexis
Resort Attendant
Alexis is attentive to pets’ needs and body language. She makes notes of how each pet reacts to people and other pets to ensure they are having a comfortable, safe visit. She gives pets time and space to adjust to the Resort, letting pets set the pace for their stay.
Alexis graduated from Texas State University, where she studied Communication Design and Visual and Motion Design. Before joining the Resort team, Alexis lived on a ranch with dogs, horses, and cows. Her best friend is Penny, a German short-haired pointer. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games, creating traditional and digital art, dancing, and spending time with her grandpa and Penny.
MaKayla
Resort Attendant
MaKayla makes pets feel comfortable and loved while visiting the Resort. Clients appreciate her transparency, sense of humor, and love of all animals. She enjoys helping pets have a fun and happy experience, providing treats, attention, and toys. MaKayla communicates with clients, providing updates and pictures so they know their pets are having the time of their lives.
MaKayla shares her home with her dog, Junior, a golden retriever/lab mix. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball and traveling to new places. She is excited to meet all the people and pets who come to the Resort.
Greg
Resort Attendant
Greg loves meeting all the pets who come to the Resort each day. He spends time helping pets get settled and comfortable. Greg gets on the pet’s level and uses a calm approach. He wants pets to have a fun time at the Resort by making friends and using up some energy so they go home happy and tired. His goal is to provide a safe, clean environment for pets.
Greg enjoys going running and participating in races when not at work. He also spends his free time at the gym. He loves working with shelter pets, and adopted his Dogo Argentino, Dusek, from a shelter.

Candice
Client Service Coordinator
Candice’s warm, friendly personality helps clients and patients feel welcome and safe. She is an active listener who not only hears client concerns but finds solutions for their needs. She is adept at reading patients’ body language and adapting her care to help support their needs. She helps out in all areas of the hospital, assisting with appointments when needed to make patient care go smoothly.
Candice joined the Firehouse team in 2015; after a brief break to attend school, she is excited to be back. Hard-working and outgoing, she supports her colleagues and helps teach them new skills. She is the “mama bear” of her Firehouse team. To keep her skills current, Candice enjoys attending online professional development classes.
After graduating from Avenue Five with her esthetician license, Candice opened a spa in Kyle, TX, where she works on the weekends. She has five children who keep her busy. When not working, she likes to travel with her family in the RV, go boating, and spend as much time on the water as possible. She owns two Pit Bulls – Buster and Chief.

Monica
Client Service Coordinator
Monica acts as a bridge between clients and the doctors. She helps clients prepare for their pets’ appointments, answers their questions, and helps alleviate any concerns before or after the appointment. She wants clients to feel comfortable with their pets’ treatment plans. Her favorite thing is being able to get to know clients and their pets.
Monica treats every patient like her own pet. She knows that the hospital can be scary, so she does what she can to make the start of the appointment as seamless and comfortable as possible. Monica loves seeing pets feel better and heal throughout their visits.
Monica attended Angelina College and Austin Community College, where she studied General Studies and Biology. Her goal is to earn her bachelor’s degree in Biology with a teaching certification. She has two rescue cats who are her whole world: Salem and Prismo. Outside of work, Monica loves crafting, photography, art, and knitting. She has her open-water certification and enjoys diving.
Silvana
Client Service Coordinator
Silvana focuses on building relationships with clients and pets. She understands the range of emotions that can go along with veterinary visits. So, she concentrates on being a comforting presence. She wants clients to feel heard and understood, working with them to ensure the vet addresses their main concerns. Clients also appreciate her transparent approach and how she bonds with the pets who visit Firehouse.
Silvana keeps patients comfortable by reading the pet’s body language and adjusting her approach. She offers love and treats as positive reinforcement. Silvana has experience volunteering at animal shelters before joining Firehouse.
Silvana attended animal science classes at Lamar University and Ashworth College. When not working, she enjoys swimming at the lake or beach, going camping, watching scary movies, and making delicious Mexican food. She has a variety of pets, including chickens, goats, cats (Finn and Buddy, plus barn cats who adopted Silvana), and dogs (Koubi, an akita/pit bull/St. Bernard mix, and Maiko, a Chihuahua mix). Because of her dogs, Silvana has a soft spot for chihuahuas and pit bulls.
Yolanda
Client Service Coordinator
Working with and helping to care for animals has been a longtime dream of Yolanda’s. She’s so excited to join the Firehouse team and help pets have a fun, safe time at the Resort. Yolanda treats every pet like her own, providing individualized care so each pet has the best experience. Whether it’s monitoring play groups, spending one-on-one time with a pet, or helping a pet settle in their kennel, Yolanda takes time to make sure each pet is comfortable and happy.
Yolanda grew up with many family pets, so she’s always been surrounded by dogs and cats. She has a Pitbull mix named Luci, who thinks she is a lap dog. In her free time, she loves watching movies, as it gives her an excuse to eat lots of popcorn.
